New Poster and Images for Mile 22!

Iko Uwais and Ronda Rousey throwing down” – surely, those are words to awaken heart-racing excitement within the minds of any self-respecting martial arts fanatic and fortunately, that’s not merely hypothetical. Ronda and Iko will appear side by side with Mark Wahlberg in Peter Berg’s upcoming action-thriller, “Mile 22” which has recently released a new poster and images, which you can see below!

The film will see Wahlberg portray James Silva, a CIA Agent tasked with locating an asset with potentially destructive information on the organization’s most clandestine unit, codenamed “Mile 22”, with the help of an elite unit of his fellow special agents.

Once the face of women’s MMA, and perhaps of the sport as a whole, Ronda Rousey has made something of a career transition in recent days. While she has not officially retired from her MMA career, it’s widely speculated that Rousey’s UFC days are behind her following her recent venture into the world of professional wrestling. Rousey had already dipped her toes into the pro-wrestling arena during the height of her MMA career, but she has since made it her full-time gig after signing up with the WWE and making her debut at Wrestlemania 34 earlier this month. Rousey is also no stranger to action films, having previously appeared in 2014’s “The Expendables 3” and 2015’s mega-hit “Furious 7“.

“Mile 22” will also mark one of several projects featuring Iko Uwais set to be released in 2018. Iko will also be seen alongside Joe Taslim, his co-star from “The Raid“, and Julie Estelle, his co-star from “The Raid 2“, in “The Night Comes for Us”, under the direction of “Headshot” co-director Timo Tjahjanto. Additionally, Iko will also be seen in the highly anticipated martial arts ensemble “Triple Threat“, alongside his fellow legends of martial arts Tony Jaa, Tiger Chen, Scott Adkins, Michael Jai White, Celina Jade, Michael Bisping, and Jeeja Yanin, under the direction of stunt veteran Jesse V. Johnson. As for “Mile 22”, one can likely get a good sense of just how director Peter Berg will utilize Iko’s Silat skills by checking out Ernie Reyes Jr.’s skirmish against The Rock in Berg’s previous film, “The Rundown”!

“Mile 22” is set to blast its way onto theater screens on August 3rd. What are your impressions or expectations for this flick? The pairing of Ronda Rousey and Iko Uwais certainly makes for a fresh team-up, who else do you think would make a cool combo?
