“Mile 22” trailer arrives online!

With the summer movie season swinging into high gear, Peter Berg’s upcoming “Mile 22” is set to the be the last hurrah to close out on with one final blast of action and adrenaline. Fortunately, you won’t have to wait until the end of the summer to get a glimpse of what “Mile 22” has in store, thanks to the newly released trailer, which you can see below (fair warning for the puritanical – it’s a Red Band trailer)!

The film will see Mark Wahlberg tackle the role of James Silva, leader of an elite, top-secret CIA unite, codenamed “Mile 22”, who finds himself tasked with transporting a man with potentially devastating top secret information out of the country. Former MMA champ turned pro-wrestler Ronda Rousey also appears in the film as the tough-as-nails Sam Snow, while Iko Uwais of “The Raid” fame will finally dip his toes into more treacherous waters as the mysterious Li Noor, whom Silva is tasked with extraditing out of the country.

The trailer teases loads of butt-kicking Silat action on Iko’s part, and it’s just one of a series projects he has on the horizon this year. He’ll also be seen alongside his co-star from “The Raid”, Joe Taslim, and Julie Estelle of “The Raid 2” in the long-gestating “The Night Comes for Us”, directed by “Headshot” auteur Timo Tjahjanto. Additionally, Iko will also be front and center in the highly anticipated martial arts action ensemble “Triple Threat”, alongside his fellow martial arts luminaries Tony Jaa, Tiger Chen, Scott AdkinsMichael Jai White, Celina Jade, Michael Bisping, and Jeeja Yanin, under the direction of veteran stuntman turned action-director Jesse V. Johnson, with his fellow stuntman and kicking machine Tim Man serving as fight choreographer!

“Mile 22” is set to explode into theaters on August 3rd. What are your impressions of the new trailer? Who else would you like to see Ronda Rousey or Iko Uwais team-up with?
