The Cobra Kai phenomenon is still going strong on Netflix after Cobra Kai – season 4’s arrival back on New Year’s Eve 2021, and thankfully, fans of the series will not even have had to wait a full year for season 5, which is set to hit Netflix on September 9!
ICYMI, check out the second trailer for season 5 of Cobra Kai that’s getting the world hyped for the next chapter…
Cobra Kai Season 5 Picks Up from the All-Valley Tournament…
When Cobra Kai season 4 ended, the new alliance of the Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do dojos fought valiantly at the All-Valley Tournament, but could not overcome Cobra Kai, with the dojo emerging victorious in the tournament. Though Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) used some unscrupulous string-pulling to ensure his school’s victory, the damage was done with Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang forced to close down.
Looks Like Cobra Kai is Going Bigger than Ever!
The new trailer for Cobra Kai season 5 promises that the series’ battle of dojos is about to get bigger than ever.
With Daniel (Ralph Macchio) teaming up with his old enemy Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) to bring down Cobra Kai, and Johnny (William Zabka) headed to Mexico City with his son Robby (Tanner Buchanan) to bring back Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Terry Silver’s influence is only developing more of a vice-grip over the valley with Cobra Kai expanding a huge empire of dojos dedicated to striking first, striking hard, and never showing mercy.

Miguel and Robby will Fight again and other Big Elements of Season 5
Miguel and Robby are two of the wild cards of Cobra Kai season 5. After Robby left Miguel near-fatally injured from his second-story kick in “Cobra Kai” season 2, they aren’t exactly on the friendliest of terms.
While they’ll surely have to put aside their differences at some point, Cobra Kai season 5’s latest trailer assures viewers that they’ll be trading kicks at least once more. Hopefully, Miguel and Robby’s next match is both an action scene up to par with the standards of Cobra Kai (it surely will be!), and one that allows them to finally put their animosity aside.
There’s also plenty going on with the other characters of season 5, from John Kreese (Martin Kove) finding himself in prison after Terry’s betrayal, Tory (Peyton List) learning the unpleasant truth about Cobra Kai after her win at the All-Valley Tournament, and many others.
Cobra Kai has always handled its individual character’s stories as fantastically as its action scenes, and season 5’s new trailer makes clear that that won’t be changing. Cobra Kai season 5 is putting everyone on the front lines, and for fans of the show as well as of the whole “Karate Kid” franchise we recommend you to buckle up!
