Baaghi 4 (2025)

Good ole’ Tiger Shroff, Bollywood’s virtuoso of aerial spinning kicks and impeccable dance skills, and face of the ever-fun “Baaghi” franchise, is back to his rebellious roots as heroic Ronny in “Baaghi 4”. This Baaghi 4 review finds the film trading the goofy, “Fast & Furious” levels of excess seen in “Baaghi 3” for a far more aggressive brand of action that recalls Indonesian-style bloodletting. The result is a remarkable return to form for the series, one that allows Tiger to step into a radically different yet no less engaging version of Ronny, defined by a much darker backstory, grimmer motivations, and a mission that pushes both the character and the franchise into their most intense territory yet.

Plot

Ranveer “Ronny” Pratap Singh is a man whose reality seems to be crumbling before his very eyes. Following a motorcycle accident after his discharge from India’s Navy, Ronny has been in the care of his brother Jeetu, and continues to long to reconnect with his lost love Alisha whom he met and fell in love with during his Naval service. Unfortunately, all traces of Alisha have suddenly vanished from Ronny’s home, including every photograph he recalls taking with her, with Jeetu and everyone in Ronny’s life denying that any woman named Alisha was ever part of Ronny’s life. Suspecting that he is the subject of a terrible case of gaslighting, Ronny digs deep to discover the truth, and soon comes to realize what has become of Alisha and the sinister plot to keep the two of them apart.

Tiger Plays Against His Image In “Baaghi 4” To Great Effect

Tiger Shroff’s youth, affable charm has carried him well in the previous “Baaghi” movies and the likes of “War” and “Ganapath”, which makes his performance in “Baaghi 4” as against type as it gets. With a hardened demeanor and scruffy, overgrown beard (one frequently coated with his and others blood – more on that in a moment), Tiger’s portrayal of his newest iteration of Ronny is a chiseled, scarred, Bollywood Wolverine. Even with the requisite Bollywood song and dance numbers and Tiger’s impeccable dance skills, Ronny’s got no mandate for such festivities, and certainly no inclination towards the decorum they demand.

“Baaghi 4” Shows Tiger’s Potential For Versatility

Ronny’s lovelorn tale isn’t all doom and gloom, though, with Tiger bringing a combination of heartfelt sorrow and undaunted determination in his quest to find his lost love Alisha. The gaslighting plot that Ronny experiences is a little overly labyrinthine in how thorough its put together, but it also gives Tiger a chance to show more range as a leading man, beaten down by memories of a romance everyone tells him is a figment of his imagination, but driven to fight past them in the knowledge that his love is real.

“Baaghi 4” Brings Some Of “The Night Comes For Us” Flair To The “Baaghi” Anthology Template

The romance and the action of “Baaghi 4” also reflect each other in a major way, that being in the harshness of what Ronny experiences and what he must unleash to win the day. The first three “Baaghi” movies certainly didn’t pull any punches, the gimmick of “Baaghi 4” is clearly “Blood, and lots of it”. Like no other Bollywood actioner in recent memory, “Baaghi 4” is of from the Timo Tjahjanto school of action with the precision, power, and grace worthy of Hong Kong’s best combined with the bodily harm of the slasher movie variety.

Layered within that is the underworld gangster tale that combined with the sheer goriness of it all really shapes up “Baaghi 4” into a Bollywood-style equivalent of “The Night Comes For Us” or “The Shadow Strays” with a dash of “Logan”-style grit. For those fans of “Baaghi” who yearned for the day when Ronny would truly take the gloves off, “Baaghi 4” lets that genie out of the bottle.

Buckle Up, Bollywood Action Fans – “Baaghi 4” Is A Wild Blast!

With the upfront warning to the squeamish of the level of unhinged bloodshed involved, “Baaghi 4” is a masterclass of the kind of Bollywood martial arts action that Tiger Shroff is a master of. With that said, it’s nearly an hour into the movie before its first proper fight scene kicks in, with the story largely devoted to Ronny’s flashback’s to his life with Alisha and his efforts to uncover what happened to her as the movie’s focal point. The action finally kicks in with a doozy of a brawl in Ronny’s old home where he battles literally dozens of masked henchmen single-handedly with machetes, rebar, and his fists as he unearths a vital clue to the situation. As a singular action sequence, the first martial arts battle of “Baaghi 4” rates among the best of Tiger Shroff’s career.

Ronny’s determination and pain tolerance are equally electrifying!

While “Baaghi 4” includes several high-octane fights enhanced by Bollywood speed-ramping and stylistic finesse, the final third fully delivers on the promise of its first major set piece, offering essentially three battles for the price of one. The climactic showdown embraces a degree of superhuman absurdity, from Ronny shrugging off massive electrical jolts to biting a rebar in half before impaling an opponent, yet these moments fit the film’s gleefully excessive tone. What follows is a relentless action run that moves Ronny from a torture chamber to a beachside smackdown and finally to a literal shotgun wedding, where his love for Alisha and hatred for Chacko collide in a storm of spinning kicks and machete slashes. To the delight of longtime fans, the iconic “Get Ready to Fight” anthem erupts at peak intensity, amplifying the chaos, spectacle, and emotional payoff of the franchise’s most explosive.

Summary

“Baaghi 4” is everything that makes the “Baaghi” franchise, Bollywood action, and Tiger Shroff himself such a joy – insane, balletic, over-the-top martial arts action thrown into a blender with spectacular song and dance numbers, a tale of unbreakable romance, and Tiger’s always phenomenally endearing persona and physicality. Even with those mainstay elements of the series, “Baaghi 4” takes a sharp turn in a much darker story and far more intense action than the series has ever seen, which might ultimately make it a bit of a love it or hate it entry in the tale of different rebels named Ronny always with a cause, but the novelty of that shift makes it truly the most unique chapter of the “Baaghi” franchise, and the most visceral Tiger Shroff action movie yet, “Baaghi 4” demonstrating that Tiger, like Ronny, is always ready to fight!
