“Europe Raiders” Trailer Arrives Online!

After striking gold with Hong Kong audiences twice with 2000’s “Tokyo Raiders” and its 2005 sequel, “Seoul Raiders”, director Jingle Ma reunites with series regular Tony Leung for the new third instalment of his globe-trotting martial arts spy-comedy franchise, “Europe Raiders”.  With the film set to drop in theatres in Asia today August 17th, Western audiences can catch a glimpse of what the film has in store courtesy of the newest trailer, which you can see below!

Tony Leung, best known to Western audiences for his portrayal of Bruce Lee‘s Wing Chun mentor Ip Man in 2013’s “The Grandmaster“, returns to the role of the series’ suave, James Bond-esque superspy, Lin Zaifeng, whose latest secret mission takes him into the heart of Europe. The film’s official synopsis gives fans a glimpse of what his newest adventure entails:

“For years, Mr. Lin Zaifeng and Miss Wang Chaoying have held the ranks of the best in the business, a position no one could touch. As both are rival and friend, they also held mutual respect for each other as well as enmity. What started as a simple contest between the two bounty hunters when the ‘Hand of God, a little bot capable of immense destruction, draws out the European mafia, the CIA and Euro-pol special agents into an all-out manhunt. Lin and Wang discover each other’s true identities but are they able to clear the air between them and work together against a real threat, while finding out where the ‘Hand of God’ is hidden?”

Also set to appear in the film are Kris Wu, seen last year alongside Donnie Yen in “xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage“, and Jeeja Yanin, who will also soon be seen in the highly anticipated martial arts ensemble “Triple Threat“, and MMA sensation Cung Le. The previous two films in the series drew audiences in with a distinctly Jackie Chan-blend of action and comedy, so fans of the series can likely expect plenty from both in “Europe Raiders”. Of course, with Tony Leung and Cung Le reuniting after “The Grandmaster”, one certainly hopes that a rematch on the level of their first big-screen battle will be on the cards!

“Europe Raiders” is set to open in theatre screens across Asia today. Stay tuned for more details on the film’s release in the English-speaking world as it arrives.
