Trailer for “Daredevil” Season 3 arrives!

Following the debut of the Marvel crossover mini-series “The Defenders” on Netflix last year, each member of the team has returned to fly solo once again. With the respective second seasons of “Jessica Jones”, “Luke Cage” and “Iron Fist“, the time has come for the return of the one that started it all with the upcoming third season of “Daredevil”. While the world still has to wait until October 19th for The Man Without Fear to make his return to Netflix, fans of the series can temporarily quench their excitement with the newly released trailer for season three, along with a few character teasers, which you can see below!

With “The Defenders” having ended with Daredevil’s close friends and allies believing him dead, season three of “Daredevil” is assured to take a darker, more arcane approach to the show, something completely reinforced by the new trailer. Season three is also said to be using as its foundation, the popular Daredevil story arc “Born Again”, written by acclaimed comic book writer Frank Miller, whose contributions to the character are the stuff of legend among Daredevil fans.

Indeed, the third season of “Daredevil” appears set to harken back to its first in numerous other ways, not the least of which sees the return of the black ninja garb donned by Matt Murdock throughout the bulk of season one. Given that Matt upgraded to his horned red suit out of the need to adopt some form of body armor, it’s a safe bet that season three will see The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen fighting his way through some serious punishment. This is further brought to life by the new trailer, which makes clear that the extremely hard-hitting, R-rated action of the previous two seasons is anything but watered down here.

Season three will also see the return of Vincent D’Onofrio in the role of Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin, whose notoriously vicious temper and Machiavellian machinations instantly made him one of the greatest villains the comic book genre has ever produced. With season three’s new trailer, the “Born Again” influences are further evident in the new plot Fisk hatches to not only get himself out of prison, but to make Matt Murdock’s life a living hell. With “Daredevil”, martial arts fans have always had plenty to sink their teeth into, especially in the form of the first two seasons’ single-shot hallway fight sequences. That aspect of “Daredevil” will reportedly remain a staple of the show in season three, as series star Charlie Cox recently revealed. If you’re still behind on the first two seasons of “Daredevil”, just scroll down a little further and feast your eyes on some of the most amazingly intense martial arts action the small screen has ever produced!
