Audiences across the globe finally began heading into theaters for the highly anticipated “Captain America: Civil War” to check out the thirteenth chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, if you’ve not made it yet fear not – you can share in some of the buzz and excitement with these outstanding action clips from the film that Marvel has released on YouTube!
If you couldn’t already tell, the Russo brothers are clearly big lovers of martial arts, something that “Civil War” looks like it’s absolutely full of! Scarlett Johansson’s as lithe and agile as her first appearance as Black Widow in 2010’s “Iron Man 2”, while Robert Downey Jr. is getting the opportunity to bring his real-life Wing Chun skills to his portrayal of Tony Stark more and more (his real-life Wing Chun master, Sifu Eric Oram, helped out with the film’s fight choreography). However, making his MCU debut is Black Panther portrayed by Chadwick Boseman, and he truly steals the show in these clips. Spider-Man, also making his MCU debut in “Civil War”, has to be similarly amazing (pun intended)!
“Civil War” is based upon Mark Millar’s 2006 story arc in which the Marvel superhero community splits into two warring factions over the passage of the Superhuman Registration Act, as superhumans they’re required to register their abilities and identities with the U.S. Government. The film adapts this story to see The Avengers divided over a new law titled “The Sokovia Accords” following the events of “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, with Captain America and Iron Man each representing the opposing viewpoints on where The Avengers stand on complying with the new law.
“Captain America: Civil War” is currently out in most of the world, and will be hitting more theaters in China, Russia, and Cap’s hometown now and over this weekend!
