Batman’s Fighting Style Broken Down!

Fans of the superhero genre and DC Comics specifically know that Batman is among the most highly skilled fighters in the DC Universe, something that Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” made resoundingly clear earlier this year. Under the direction of fight choreographer Damon Caro, the film treated audiences around the world to what is hands down THE best Batman fight sequence ever put to film.

It’s a no hold’s-barred smackdown drawing equal influence from the “Arkham Asylum” games, “The Raid“, and like the film as a whole, it was beefed up even more in Snyder’s “Ultimate Edition“. It most certainly set the bar high for all superhero fight scenes going forward, as you can see below!

With a superhero who can kick butt like that, you can imagine the anticipation for next year’s “Wonder Woman” and “Justice League” is through the roof, but one also can’t help but feel that a breakdown of the Dark Knight’s amazing martial arts skills in this brawl is in order. Fortunately, YouTuber Godzillarex has risen to the occasion and offered just that!

As you can see in the video below, he meticulously analyzes Batman’s offensive and defensive techniques in the fight sequence to pin down just how extensive the martial arts skills of Gotham’s watchful protector are. Of course as anyone who’s remotely familiar with Batman can tell you, he’s well versed in countless methods of combat from across the world.

Like that other well known martial artist with the name Bruce, the Dark Knight strives to absorb what is useful, reject what is not and add what is uniquely his own!
