Street Fighter Assassin’s Fist teaser arrives!

The wait for the Street Fighter Assassin’s Fist just got a little easier to endure! The series’ first teaser trailer has just been released online, and is sure to keep “Street Fighter” fans the world over wide awake for the next two to three days!

Back in 2010, Joey Ansah and Christian Howard released their fan film “Street Fighter: Legacy” on YouTube to a rapturous response from fans of the “Street Fighter” games who were still spurned from the shoddy films. After much speculation of a continuation of “Legacy” in some form, the duo released a video at the 2012 San Diego ComicCon announcing the development of “Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist”. The series was filmed in Bulgaria during the summer of 2013 and has had “Street Fighter” fans salivating at the possibility that their beloved series might finally be done justice in live-action.

Several things are immediately apparent from the teaser trailer. The first being that “Assassin’s Fist” is much, much closer to capturing the spirit of the “Street Fighter” universe than either of the previous films. The action teased in the teaser also looks absolutely stunning, and that’s without a single Hadoken, Shoryuken, or Tatsumaki in sight!

Even were it not a “Street Fighter” adaptation and judged simply as a martial arts flick, “Assassin’s Fist” looks like a true powerhouse. But perhaps what most sets it apart from the previous adaptations is the treatment the series has here looks like a saga of epic proportions, which is exactly what any adaptation of “Street Fighter” needs to and deserves to be!
