The world may have to wait until 2015 to see Michael Jai White kick butt alongside Tony Jaa and Dolph Lundgren in “Skin Trade”, but the debut of his latest outing “Falcon Rising” is just around the corner. The film, formerly titled “Favela”, is set to debut On Demand on September 4th, with a limited theatrical release across the U.S. beginning the following day.
White portrays a former U.S. Marine named John “Falcon” Chapman, who ventures into the crime-ridden slums of Brazil on a quest for vengeance after his is attacked by gangsters. Along the way, he’ll find himself forced to take on Brazilian gangsters and Japanese yakuza enforcers as he penetrates the seedy criminal underworld of Brazil. Neal McDonough and Capoeira virtuoso Lateef Crowder of “Undisputed 3” fame co-star in the film, with acclaimed action director Larnell Stovall handling the films fight choreography.
White has described “Falcon Rising”, which is the first of a planned trilogy, as something that he’s been waiting his entire career to make, and it most definitely looks to be well-worth the wait. Even better, the film is set to debut on DVD and Blu-ray on October 28th, the very same day as this little masterpiece you may have heard of!
