It’s one thing to blow your audience away with an incredible action scene. It’s something else altogether to perfectly replicate one of the all-time classic action scenes ever filmed! Yet that’s exactly what the amazingly talented stunt performers of LBP Stunts Chicago have done with their recently released video “Mickey Facchinello vs. Brendon Huor – Wheels on Meals Choreography Practice”.
Pitting accomplished stunt performers Mickey Facchinello and Brendon Huor against one another, the short film, under the direction of stunt man and fight choreographer Emmanuel Manzanares, recreates what is widely considered one of the all-time greatest martial arts fights in cinema history. Specifically, we are talking about Jackie Chan’s climactic duel with Benny “The Jet” Urquidez” at the end of “Wheels on Meals”, with Faccinello assuming the role of the latter while Huor embodies Jackie’s role.
Even in a noticeably different setting from the climax of “Wheels on Meals”, it’s truly remarkable how well the two performers recreate one of the proudest moments in the careers and lives of Jackie and Benny “The Jet”. Both are also highly talented stunt performers whom you’ve probably already seen on screen without even knowing it – Facchinello in films like “The Purge” and “22 Jump Street”, and Huor in Jackie Chan’s “Robin-B-Hood” and the recent reboot of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (as well as Vlad Rimburg’s recent fan film of Donnie Yen’s “Kung Fu Jungle”). Manzanares has also done stunt work for television series’ such as “Chicago Fire” and “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” and will also be seen alongside Facchinello in the upcoming “Unlucky Stars”.
If you’re among the millions of action fans who feel that talents and stunt performers are woefully overlooked, of course you’re right and they are! For now though, sit up and pay close attention to the video above!
