Hwang Jang-lee coming to SENI!

The upcoming SENI Combat and Strength Show, set to take place in London’s Soccerdome on September 13th and 14th, promises to be one of major martial arts related events in the U.K. this year. However, the latest addition to this year’s event roster is one of historical significance – the legendary superkicker Hwang Jang-lee, is set to make an appearance!

The renowned king of leg combat first took up martial arts in his native South Korea as a teenager, specializing in Tae Kwon Do. After serving for a number of years in the South Korean military, Hwang relocated to Hong Kong and made the leap to martial arts films.

Hwang Jang LeeShot to superstardom across Asia alongside Jackie Chan in his villainous appearances in “Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow” and “Drunken Master”, Hwang would go on to become one of the most famed villains in Hong Kong movie history, with appearances in classics such as “Millionaire’s Express”, “Dance of the Drunk Mantis”, and the “Secret Rivals” films. But when it comes to his superhuman kicking ability, it’s anything but camera magic. As anyone who has ever seen him cut loose with his powerful legs in person can tell, Hwang’s kicking abilities are totally real and totally lethal!

Hwang retired from movies in the late nineties, but has continued to teach ever since. He’s also every bit as formidable a fighter as ever, holding the rank of 9th Dan in both Tae Kwon Do and Tang Soo Do, and has served as an instructor and technical advisor for the World Tang Soo Do General Federation.
