The human body is capable of reaching heights of physical potential that border on the superhuman, but alas, outrunning a bullet is not one of them. Fortunately, gun disarms are a staple of countless forms of martial arts across the world, but that’s not the end of the story. Given that firearms are a projectile weapon, they afford the user the opportunity to kill from a distance, and no matter how adept you are with gun disarms, they are simply not going to work if the enemy is not within your immediate reach. Furthermore, gun disarms require perhaps the most impeccable timing of any technique of combat you will ever come across. Once you set the disarm into motion, you will have a split-second, at best, to neutralize the threat of the gun before the opponent is able to react and put up a resistance to your attempt at a disarm – or worse, he pulls the trigger while you are still in the path of the speeding bullet. With all of this in mind, gun disarms should be attempted in a real situation by only the most experienced of martial artists.
All of that is, of course, the laughable party line towed by the sheep of the martial arts world, and naturally, Master Ken – the deadliest martial artist to ever live and founder of the world’s most unbeatable combat style, Ameri-Do-Te – knows better. Beginning his martial arts training less than a minute after his own birth, Master Ken has devoted his life to the study of every martial art ever created by man, only to eventually come to the realization that each and every one of them is a total waste of time, due to the fact that with the respective strengths of each also comes a respective weakness. Following this realization, Master Ken began to do away with the weakness of each system while retaining their strengths, and thus, the street lethal art of Ameri-Do-Te was born. This approach to combat is also the origin of the saying popular among Ameri-Do-Te practitioners, “Best of All, Worst of None”. As the world’s only 11th degree black belt, Master Ken feels that much of what is being taught to martial arts students regarding gun disarms is baloney. In particular, he takes a great exception to the saying, “Never bring a knife to a gun fight.” In Ameri-Do-Te, students learn that not only is this saying blatantly misleading, but in fact, bringing two knifes to a gun fight is among the most effective methods for disarming a firearm-wielding enemy. Naturally, it goes without saying that adopting the training methods of Master Ken and Ameri-Do-Te could end up saving your life, but perhaps now that Master Ken is specifically addressing a life-or-death situation, all of the naysayers will at last pay attention!
