Everything Everywhere All At Once Trailer Lands Online KUNG FU KINGDOM
Written and directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, collectively known as “Daniels”, “Everything Everywhere All At Once” sees Michelle playing Evelyn Wang, who is pulled into a quest to save the world by travelling to different universes. In each one, Evelyn encounters a different version of herself, and learns she has the ability to tap into the skills and memories of each parallel version of herself. Ke Huy Quan plays Evelyn’s husband, and also acts as a guide to helping her understand the intricacies of the Multiverse.
Judging by the trailer, the movie seems like a bit of a riff on Jet Li’s 2001 sci-fi multiverse action movie “The One”, but it also looks to be going more in-depth with a more complex story. The action scenes glimpsed in the trailer seem to blend both grounded Hong Kong action, and wuxia wire-fu, a combo the aforementioned “Shang-Chi” previously applied with great success.
Between it’s sci-fi and action elements, “Everything Everywhere All At Once” looks like a bizarre-but-fun trip down the rabbit hole coming up in March. It’s also clearly taking a far more comedic approach to the Multiverse, while fans of “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” and “Breathing Fire” will also recognize Ke Huy Quan as Evelyn’s husband. This title certainly looks like a head-scratcher, but definitely one worth an entry in the date book to see Michelle Yeoh in a role that’s at once familiar and completely new territory for her.
