Character trailers for Street Fighter V!

The long-running Street Fighter series is set to release its latest entry, Street Fighter V, to videogame consoles in March 2016, and both fans of the series and gamers on the whole couldn’t be more excited!

Among the characters from the series roster that are confirmed to appear in the newest installment are Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, M.Bison, Charlie Nash, Cammy, Birdie, Vega, R. Mika, Karin, and Zangief, with more mainstays of the series to be announced as the release nears. However, Street Fighter V will also be adding some new characters to its roster, with Brazilian fighter Laura Matsuda being the latest confirmed addition and her recently released character trailer gives fans a glimpse of her fighting skills.

Laura’s Jiu-Jitsu skills, as you can see from her trailer, are nothing to joke about, and she will notably mark the first Street Fighter character with a grappling-oriented fighting style to be able to utilize projectile attacks. Laura also represents a bit of history within the Street Fighter timeline, given that she is the older sister of Sean Matsuda, who made his debut as a loyal disciple of Ken in Street Fighter III.

Laura isn’t the only new character to step into the World Warrior tournament in Street Fighter V. Continuing the long tradition of fighting games of creating a multi-cultural, international cast of characters, the new chapter in the series will introduce Middle Eastern fighter Rashid and Latin American contender Necalli, both of whose trailers can be seen below.

Street Fighter V is set to be released for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows in March 2016. Stay tuned for more information as the release nears, and take a look at the Street Fighter IV demo with Floyd Mayweather and Ronda Rousey below too!
