An evening with the Street Fighter crew!

We’re a week away from the home media release of the acclaimed web-series “Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist”, in which fans will get a look behind-the-scenes via the special features menu and an audio commentary track with the series director, co-creator, and co-star Joey Ansah. Some of us have been fortunate enough to get a peek behind-the-scenes already, either through interviews with the cast and crew (such as those we’ve done here at KFK) or via their appearances at the San Diego and New York Comic Cons earlier this year.

Then, there’s Mr. Lee Golden.

The founder of the popular action movie blog Film Combat Syndicate, Lee had resigned himself to being unable to attend the recent New York Comic Con which featured the presence of Ansah and his two co-stars in the series, Mike Moh, Gaku Space, and Akira Koieyama. That is, until he was invited to dinner with them this past Sunday evening. Accompanied by his acquaintance, indie action filmmaker Jon Truei, along with stuntwoman Kimmy Suzuki and comedian friend of Akira Koeiyama, Kazu, Mr. Golden (whose response to “Assassin’s Fist” was just as enthusiastic as ours) had landed an opportunity that few fans of the series would ever dream possible.

Indeed, most “Assassin’s Fist” fans would draw the line of their fantasizing about meeting the crew behind the series right there, but Lee’s experience was just getting started. Following dinner, he returned with the “Assassin’s Fist” crew to the hotel they were staying at, where he was given a crash course in cinematic fight choreography. Talk about the icing on the cake. You can read all about Lee’s experience on Film Combat Syndicate, and be sure to check out the video below to see Lee’s lesson in fight choreography 101!

“Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist” is set to hit Blu-ray, DVD, and digital media platforms in the U.K. on October 27th, and will be released on all three in the U.S. on the following day. Fans of the series have plenty to sink their teeth into – on top of the aforementioned behind-the-scenes features, fans will also get the chance to see the never-before-seen 13-minute epilogue to “Assassin’s Fist”. The sixth instalment of the series’ Q and A with fans, which you can watch below, reveals more of what fans can expect. For now, mark the calendars for next week, and send out a big congratulations to Lee Golden of Film Combat Syndicate while you’re at it!
