Street Fighter Assassin’s Fist behind-the-scenes!

Fans eagerly anticipating “Street Fighter Assassin’s Fist”, the long-awaited reboot of the “Street Fighter” series severely disappointing cinematic career, have just gotten something to whet their appetite’s with!

After releasing a Q&A on YouTube with Joey Ansah, who created the series alongside Christian Howard and who appears in the role of Akuma, the makers of “Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist” have released some behind-the-scenes footage of the making of “Assassin’s Fist”.

Ansah and Howard first pitched their vision of a live-action version of “Street Fighter” with their fan film “Street Fighter: Legacy” back in 2010. Now, after four years of tireless determination to bring their series to masses, “Assassin’s Fist” is set to be released later this year.

What’s particularly interesting about the behind-the-scenes video is the admission  by the creators of “Assassin’s Fist” that the series could have been financed and released several years ago. What ultimately kept that from happening was the refusal of the “Assassin’s Fist” team to compromise their vision for what the series should become in order to secure the necessary funds more quickly. The creators go on to say that they were frequently offered the necessary funds for the series, but on the condition of certain artistic compromises towards the financiers.

The refusal of the “Assassin’s Fist” team to compromise their vision of the series, even if that ultimately meant doing things the hard way, should be seen as a highly commendable level of determination and dedication, by aspiring filmmakers and “Street Fighter” fans alike. If that doesn’t show just how steadfast the resolve of Ansah, Howard, and co. has been in doing “Street Fighter” justice in a live action medium, nothing will. Hats off to you all!

As fans anticipating a trailer for the series sate their thirst on the behind-the-scenes video, the creators of “Assassin’s Fist” have another treat for them in the form of some excerpts of the series’ soundtrack released via SoundCloud. Included among them is the “Assassin’s Fist” rendition of Ken’s theme, which is sure to get the blood of any “Street Fighter” fan pumping a mile a minute. Rest assured, anyone who claims that they don’t feel like leaping into a swirl of spinning kicks and shoryukens whenever Ken’s theme is played is lying through their teeth!

Have a listen and see for yourself!
