Fans of Marvel Comics know the names Deadpool and Black Panther well. One is a psychotic wisecracking mercenary who is fully aware that he is a fictional character and who has broken every fourth wall he’s ever encountered. The other rules over the African nation of Wakanda and holds the distinction of being the world’s first black superhero. Both characters will soon leap from the pages of the comics and onto the big screen, with Ryan Reynolds and Chadwick Boseman set to don the mask of each. However, you don’t have to wait until 2016 to see them in action, thanks to the fan film “Deadpool and Black Panther: Back in Red & Black”, recently released on YouTube by Halo Union Productions.
In addition to directing the film, Garrett H. Dumas also portrays the fast-talking Merc with a Mouth, while Carnell Holley assumes the role of Black Panther. The latter is, of course, the far more stalwart character of the two, as opposed to Deadpool, who’s just in it for the money, and even more for the fun. They just happen to be two of the most highly skilled martial artists in the Marvel Universe, and they’ll need every bit of their skills if they’re to save the day and get out of this one alive!
