Baaghi sequel in the works!

After showing in theaters across India and much of the world for the last month, Sabbir Khan’s romantic martial arts adventure “Baaghi” (which means “rebel” in the Urdu language) has emerged as a massive hit and after much speculation, “Baaghi 2” is now in the works!

The film, which has drawn comparisons to “The Raid: Redemption” and “The Karate Kid”, stars rising Bollywood leading man and impeccable Brandon Lee-lookalike Tiger Shroff as Ronny. He plays a rebellious youth sent by his father to study India’s most ancient martial art: Kalaripayattu at the school of a local guru, played by Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bharadwaj (incidentally a real-life Kalari trainer to Indian Commandos). There, he meets and falls in love with another student named Sia, played by Shraddha Kapoor but incurs the wrath of her rival suitor, up and coming crime boss Raghav, played by Sudheer Babu.

Something that’s sure to lead to a lot of speculation is the fact that the upcoming sequel is likely to be filmed in China which of course, opens up a whole world of possibilities for Ronny’s next adventure! Will he get the chance to study at the legendary Shaolin Temple, or possibly cross paths with the likes of Donnie Yen or Sammo Hung? Time will tell, but as the conjecture continues, check out the clip from the film below of Ronny’s Kalari training as the film’s release in the English-speaking world continues to spread to DVD and streaming services over the course of the summer!
