Mark Dacascos to direct Showdown in Manila!

Acclaimed action superstar and world-renowned Iron Chef Mark Dacascos recently finished up on “Ultimate Justice”, where he will be seen opposite Germany’s rising star Mike Moeller and veteran hulking villain Matthias Hues, among others. However, if you believed that he’d be resting on his laurels after finishing the film (which was also co-written by Mike Leeder of Impact Online), you clearly haven’t heard the news that he’ll be making his directorial debut with “Showdown in Manila” (and no, it was not at some earlier stage titled “Thrilla in Manila”, so please don’t ask)!

Mark will also appear in the film itself, and will be joined by an ensemble of martial arts movie veterans such as Don “The Dragon” Wilson, Olivier Gruner, Cynthia Rothrock, Matthias Hues, Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa, and Casper Van Dien. Russian bodybuilding champ Alexander Nevsky and Andrej Bartkowiak serve as the film’s producers.

2015 seems to be shaping up to be a big year for Mark. In addition to “Showdown in Manila” and the aforementioned “Ultimate Justice”, he will also appear alongside Van Dien, with whom he co-starred in the second season of “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” (portraying Kung Lao and Johnny Cage, respectively) in the upcoming “Relentless: Thailand”.  In addition, he’ll be seen opposite Wilson and Rothrock, as well as Jerry Trimble, Jeff Speakman, Michael Dudikoff, Loren Avedon, Billy Blanks, and Richard Norton in “Blood Raid”, which is said to be a B-movie take on “The Expendables”!

“Showdown in Manila” is set to get rolling next month. To stay up to date on the latest news relating to the film, be sure to follow Alexander Nevsky on Twitter, and Mark Dacascos on Facebook and Twitter. Also be sure to follow the official Facebook for “Ultimate Justice” for more info on its upcoming release, as well!
