Babes with Blades trailer debuts!

Back in May, martial arts in the U.K. had the chance to finally see the post-apocalyptic adventure “Warrioress“, directed by Ross Boyask and largely brought together by stunt woman and Silat exponent Cecily Fay. Much of the supporting cast and stunt people were also a part of Cecily’s performance group, Babes with Blades, which she mentioned would soon be making the leap from the stage to the screen in her interview with KFK earlier this year. At last, it seems the wait is finally drawing to an end with the newly released trailer for “Babes with Blades: Flower of Sarnia”!

Cecily is joined in the film by Lauren Okadigbo, Yennis Cheung, Cheryl Burniston, John Robb, Daniel Everett-Lock, Mike Collin, Sam Gannon, and her “Warrioress” co-stars Joelle Simpson and Brendan Carr. In bringing Babes with Blades to the world of celluloid, the film will meld martial arts with elements of science fiction and steam punk, as you can see from the official synopsis:

“The story is set on the dark streets of the planet Draiga, against the backdrop of enormous rusting steel smelting machinery, neon lit walkways and vast industrial halls. Azura is the last of the Sarnians who were once a fearsome Warrior race. Her home world, once a beautiful haven, is now a lifeless husk after the Visray Empire destroyed it when she was a child, and captured her and her friend Tallarin.

Azura manages to escape and survives to adulthood on the streets of the human colony on Draiga. Sef, the boss of the notorious slave ring, finally captures her and makes her fight in the death matches in the Gladiatorial ring. Meanwhile, a group of human freedom fighters form a resistance to the occupying Visray and seek to try and protect their families from the oppressive and cruel rule of the Visray Section Commander Sorrentine.

The fate of the humans on Draiga becomes entwined with that of the last Sarnian, Azura.”

“Babes with Blades: Flower of Sarnia” will debut sometime in 2015. Until then, be sure to follow Babes with Blades on Facebook and Twitter, as well the official website of Babes with Blades for more information!
