New Mile 22 trailer arrives online!

Peter Berg’s upcoming action thriller “Mile 22” may have kicked its release date back a few weeks, effectively positioning itself as to close out the summer movie season, but that doesn’t mean the makers of the film haven’t left audiences wanting for just a little more teasing before the film’s grand debut, as evidenced by the newly released, and frankly better, second trailer, which you can see below (fair warning to the squeamish – like the first trailer, this one is a Red Band)!

The film sees Mark Wahlberg in the role of elite CIA operative James Silva, leader of a clandestine undercover unit codenamed “Mile 22″. Silva finds himself saddled with the mission transporting the mysterious Li Noor, played by Iko Uwais, from Colombia to the United States to prevent an impending attack from latter’s home government. Former MMA champ turned pro-wrestler Ronda Rousey will also appear in the film as, Sam Snow, Silva’s hardcore associate in Mile 22 .

While the film’s first trailer was far from lacking, the second significantly improves upon it, and continues to tease tons of Silat action on the part of Iko Uwais, and while both trailers have been rather light on Ronda Rousey’s role in the film, her recent foray into the pro-wrestling arena leaves much for fans to anticipate in the film.

Along with the upcoming release of “Mile 22”, Iko has several other upcoming projects in the pipeline, including the “The Night Comes for Us”, under the direction of “Headshot” auteur Timo Tjahjanto. Additionally, Iko is set to headline the Netflix series “Wu Assassins”, which will begin production in August, and will also be seen alongside the titular motley crew in the hotly anticipated martial arts action ensemble “Triple Threat”, alongside fellow martial arts legends Tony Jaa, Tiger Chen, Scott AdkinsMichael Jai White, Celina Jade, Michael Bisping, and Jeeja Yanin, with a release later this year still pending.

“Mile 22” is set to blast its way onto theater screens near you on August 17th.What are your thoughts on the new trailer, looking forward to seeing Ronda Rousey and Iko Uwais kick up an action storm in “Mile 22”?
