Mile 22 Action Featurette Released Online!

As we dive into the month of August, the summer movie season is set to come to an end with Peter Berg’s upcoming action thriller “Mile 22” which hits theaters on August 17th giving audiences one final action-packed blast to close out the summer with. As the film nears its impending release, viewers now have a chance to look behind the action with a newly released behind the scenes featurette showcasing the film’s extensive fight choreography, orchestrated by one of its own leading men, Indonesian action star Iko Uwais, which you can see below!

The film focuses on elite CIA operative James Silva, played by Mark Wahlberg, commander of an undercover CIA task force codenamed “Mile 22”. Silva finds himself transporting the mysterious foreign agent Li Noor, played by Iko Uwais, from Colombia to the United States to prevent an impending assault on American soil from the corrupt government of Li Noor’s home country. Also set to appear in the film is former MMA champ turned pro-wrestler Ronda Rousey in the role of Silva’s rough-and-tumble fellow Mile 22 agent, Sam Snow.

The film’s two trailers each teased loads of martial arts action on the part of Iko Uwais, well-known for his abilities in Silat after launching to worldwide acclaim in films such as “Merantau“, “Headshot”, “Beyond Skyline“, and most notably, 2012’s “The Raid: Redemption” and its 2014 sequel, “The Raid 2“. Going by the new behind the scenes featurette, Iko looks poised to blow audiences away once more in “Mile 22”, which reportedly already has plans in place for a sequel too, along with a tie-in web-series titled “The Kiev Exchange”, with Peter Berg returning to direct.

Alongside the looming release of “Mile 22”, Iko will also be seen as one-third of the titular motley crew in the heavily anticipated martial arts ensemble, “Triple Threat”, bringing him together with such other legends of action as Tony Jaa, Tiger Chen, Scott AdkinsMichael Jai White, Celina Jade, Michael Bisping, and Jeeja Yanin, with the film set to release in October 2018.

“Mile 22” is set to explode onto theater screens near you on August 17th. What are your thoughts on the new behind the scenes featurette above; looking forward to see Iko unleash it all in “Mile 22”?
