Kung Fu Jungle trailer arrives!

Now THIS looks like a Donnie Yen movie! After going through different titles from “Last of the Best” to “Kung Fu Killer” before finally settling on its current name, Donnie Yen’s “Kung Fu Jungle” dropped its first teaser trailer online earlier this week!

The film is set to debut in China and Hong Kong on October 31st, and between the premise and the slasher-film tone adopted by the trailer, it seems Halloween is the perfect time to drop the film. Donnie portrays a former martial arts instructor for the Hong Kong police force, incarcerated for accidentally killing a man. However, when a mysterious serial killer begins targeting martial arts masters throughout Hong Kong, the police offer him his freedom in exchange for him tracking down the vicious killer.

Joining Donnie in the film is his co-star from the “Ip Man” 1 and 2 Fan Siu-wong, along with former Shaolin Monk Shi Yan Neng, a rather frequent co-star of Donnie’s who recently had his first lead in “The Wrath of Vajra”. Additionally, Baoqiang Wang will portray the Kung Fu killer of the film, and the one and only Bey Logan is also said to have a duel with Donnie in the film!

The premise and the trailer are sure to leave any Donnie Yen fan hyped up and eager for more! Martial arts and horror aren’t a combination seen too often, nowadays, but if “Kung Fu Jungle” is as awesome as it looks, it could be quite a Halloween this year!
