Happy Birthday Sonny Chiba!

Happy Birthday Chiba-san! The legend is a ripe 75-years old today.

Born on this day in 1939 as Sadaho Maeda in Fukuoka, Japan, he went on to act, direct, sing, produce films and practice martial arts.  He currently holds black belts in:

  • Kyokushin Karate: 4th Dan
  • Ninjutsu: 4th Dan
  • Goju-ryu karate: 2nd Dan
  • Shorinji Kempo: 2nd Dan
  • Judo: 2nd Dan
  • Kendo: 1st Dan

He has starred in over 100 movies, probably the most notable are the Street Fighter series in the 1970’s and Kill Bill.
