Gong Shou Dao arrives online!

The wait is over at last for the highly anticipated “Gong Shou Dao”! The intriguing kung fu ensemble short brings together the legendary talents of Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Wu Jing, Tony Jaa, Yuen Woo-ping, Tony Ching Siu-tung and Sammo Hung with rising stars like Jacky Heung, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Zou Shiming, Asashoryu Akinori, and Alibaba Group chairman Jack Ma, all of whom you can see in action below!

The project is the long-in-development brainchild of Jet Li and Jack Ma, and serves as part of a larger effort on their part to introduce a new, Tai Chi-based event in the Olympics, appropriately named “Gong Shou Dao”. Like Li, Ma is long-time practitioner of Tai Chi, having gone as far as to incorporate it into the work environment of The Alibaba Group, as well as being the co-founder of Li’s online training program, Taiji Zen.

While Wu Jing, Tony Jaa, Sammo Hung, and Donnie Yen have all been omnipresent in the world of martial arts films for years (and Tony will also soon be seen in another highly anticipated martial arts ensemble, the upcoming “Triple Threat“) “Gong Shou Dao” also marks Li’s most significant action role in some time. Recent years have seen him placing greater focus on his philanthropic organization, The One Foundation, and his semi-retirement has also been partially attributed to health concerns on his part, though these are reportedly no longer an issue, a diagnosis that even the most pessimistic of physicians would be hard-pressed to dispute after seeing him doing his thing in the film!

“Gong Shou Dao” can be seen in all its glory on the video-sharing platform Youku.com and on JetLi.com’s official YouTube channel. Check it out and let us know what you think by commenting below, join in the conversation on Facebook and follow us on Twitter!
