Batman Ninja Trailer released online!

Few characters in the DC Universe are as renown for their abilities in martial arts as Batman is and soon, The Dark Knight will find himself putting his decidedly ninja-like skill-set to use in its original setting. Just ICYMI, the trailer for the upcoming Batman anime film “Batman Ninja” gives fans a glimpse of Bruce Wayne’s upcoming anime adventure, which judging from the trailer, looks ready to deliver an incredible animated martial arts thrill for his legions of fans across the globe!

The film will reportedly see Batman transported back in time to feudal Japan, where he will find himself doing battle with Japanese versions of his expansive rogues gallery, including The Joker, Harley Quinn, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, and Deathstroke among others. Fortunately, he’ll have his long-standing allies by his side as well, including Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman, and his trusty butler, Alfred Pennyworth. This notably isn’t Batman’s first foray into the anime world. That honor goes to the 2008 anime anthology film “Batman: Gotham Knight”, which has often been interpreted as a loose anime interquel between 2005’s “Batman Begins” and 2008’s “The Dark Knight”.

As you can see from the trailer, the filmmakers look to have gone all out in their quest to bring Batman into the era of feudal Japan, even going as far as to suit both him and The Joker up in Samurai armor complete with katanas in their hands. No word yet if Kevin Conroy or Mark Hamill will voice either character for the film’s English-language dub, but the stunning animated action glimpsed in the trailer makes “Batman Ninja” a must for martial arts fans. Whether it manages to reach the heights of Batman’s stunning warehouse brawl in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice“, or the famed battle between The Dark Knight and Deathstroke in “Batman: Arkham Origins”, which you can see below, “Batman Ninja” is clearly aiming for that level of greatness!

“Batman Ninja” is set to release sometime in 2018. Stay tuned for more info on the film and the ‘Caped Crusader’ as they arrive!
