Ascended Masters arrives!

The life of Jesus contains one big question mark for historians and religious scholars – just what was he up to between the ages of twelve and thirty?  The missing years of Christ continue to perplex and mystify the devout and the scholarly community alike.  Too bad none of them bothered to consult with filmmaker Jela Oba Okpara of Spectacle Pictures.  He knows the answer to the great riddle of Christianity and has finally made it known in his short film “Ascended Masters”!

As we discover in the film, Jesus (or, the more accurate pronunciation of his name, Yeshua) departs from his home in Israel and makes his way to the Far East in search of spiritual enlightenment, which he finds under the tutelage of the wise sage Siddhartha.  Through rigorous, daily martial arts training, Jesus is able to unify his mind, body, and spirit and can at last return to Israel to fulfill his destiny.

Nick Denbeigh assumes the role of Jesus in the film, while Oscar Perez portrays his kung fu guru Siddhartha, in addition to serving as fight choreographer.  Both can also be seen in Okpara’s previous post-apocalyptic short, “The Last Girl”, where Perez also lent his services as action director.  Both films also give a proud salute to the classic Shaw Brothers-produced martial arts films over their end credits!

For more information on “Ascended Masters” and the upcoming projects of Spectacle Pictures, be sure to follow the film on Facebook and Twitter, as the official Facebook and Twitter pages for Spectacle Pictures, as well!
