Manga Entertainment is excited to announce the home video release of Takashi Miike’s vampire action-horror “Yakuza Apocalypse”. The latest cinematic feast from the prolific and controversial cult Japanese director had its UK theatrical debut on 45 screens (Vue, Odeon, Showcase) in January 2016. Prior to that, it wowed audiences at the London Film Festival and had its world premiere at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight.

As a frenzied mashup of gore, organised crime and vampiric folklore, “Yakuza Apocalypse” is not just for connoisseurs of Japanese cinema. Coming from infamous director Miike and creators of the smash hit crime thriller “The Raid”, this film is a manic whirlwind of action-packed horror showcasing all of his bizarre, yet fun signature style. It pulls no punches and appeals to horror, action and martial arts fans alike.

Synopsis

Due to his sensitive skin, Kageyama is ridiculed by his fellow Yakuza clan members for being the only one who cannot be branded with their signature tattoo. When Kamiura, the fearsome Yakuza boss who also happens to be a bloodsucking vampire is brutally killed by a competing clan, he passes on his vampire powers to his loyal lieutenant. Now Kageyama is transformed into a bloodthirsty monster who will stop at nothing to avenge his former boss.
