Vlad Rimburg releases Gambit concept film!

Despite being one of the most beloved members of the X-Men, the Cajun card-thrower Remy LeBeau aka Gambit has been curiously scarce in the “X-Men” film series.

So far, he’s only shown up for a minor appearance in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” where he was portrayed by Taylor Kitsch (who is currently in talks to take the lead in the upcoming English-language remake of “The Raid”), and Channing Tatum is set to assume the role in the series forthcoming eighth installment, “X-Men: Apocalypse”.

However, when it comes to handling the stunt work and fight choreography necessary to do justice to the Ragin’ Cajun, Vlad Rimburg is ready to show fans that he’s the right man for the job with his recently released conceptual video “X-Men: Gambit”. Stunt man Antal Kalik, whose resumes includes films such as “The Expendables”, “The Last Stand”, “Green Lantern”, and “The Dark Knight Rises” assumes the title role in the short film, very fitting considering that he also doubled for the future Gambit himself in “22 Jump Street” and the upcoming “Jupiter Ascending”.

The short is just the latest addition to the cornucopia of awesome that is Rimburg’s YouTube channel. An accomplished stunt man and independent filmmaker, Rimburg regularly puts big-time action filmmakers to shame with a fraction of their resources. Some of his more notable appearances include “Immortal” and “Contour” alongside Stunt People co-founder Eric Jacobus, as well as the upcoming “Unlucky Stars”. Rimburg also regularly releases short films on YouTube that are absolutely amazing and more than worthy of big-screen treatment, such as the ode to karate “Osu” and a fan film featuring Hammer Girl of “The Raid 2”.

Gambit’s mutant abilities include the power to manipulate potential and kinetic energy, which he channels through his weapon of choice, playing cards. In addition, Gambit is a highly skilled martial artist, being an exponent of Savate and an expert with the bo staff – All details that Rimburg nails with the accuracy of Gambit’s card-throwing skills. All that’s missing is some good old X-Men theme music to get our blood racing that much faster! Hey 20th Century Fox! If you’re looking for a fight choreographer/stunt coordinator for “X-Men: Apocalyspe”, Vlad Rimburg’s your man!
