The Turtle and the Sea trailer released!

Former Shaolin disciple Shi Yan Lei has been one of the headmasters of London’s U.K. Shaolin Temple since the early 2000’s, and has spread the teachings of the Shaolin way to millions of people across the globe through his series of instructional books and DVD’s. However, he is now set to make the leap to the big screen with his first feature film, “The Turtle and the Sea”, and its trailer  has just been released online.

Directed by filmmaker Marek Budzynski, the film is partially inspired by Yan Lei’s experiences when he first arrived in the UK. It also serves as something of a tribute to Yan Lei’s mother, and draws meaning via the illness she endured in her final days. Yan Lei spoke of the genesis of the film and the details surrounding it in his recent interview with KFK!

“The Turtle and the Sea” is set to come out sometime in 2015. For more information, be sure to follow the official Facebook page of the film, and Shifu’s Yan Lei’s Facebook page, as well!
