As the release of the long-awaited web-series “Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist” approaches, fans have been given something to sink their teeth into that’s better than any trailer they could ever hope for! In truth, it be ever been than the series itself. Sure, “Assassin’s Fist” may finally be the moment for “Street Fighter” in the live-action sun, after the first two disastrous attempts, but today, we truly have the battle of the century right before our very eyes – the creators of “Assassin’s Fist”, Joey Ansah and Christian Howard, facing off in a round of Street Fighter IV!

But don’t think that they’re stopping there! Ansah and Howard have also dropped a few more details on the upcoming series for fans to salivate over until its release. Specifically, details on the flagship special move of the “Street Fighter” series and it’s role in “Assassin’s Fist”, the Hadouken!

Even a total newcomer to anything “Street Fighter” related can see the merit in what Ansah lays out here. Rather than simply endowing the characters Ryu and Ken with their Hadouken firing abilities from the beginning, the series will delve into just how they develop this ability through their Ansatsuken training.

Even better, like the “Street Fighter” series itself, Ansah correlates this to a somewhat exaggerated take on the concept of chi (or ki, as its known in Japan), the life force which binds all life together, and which can be multiplied and strengthened within each individual. The world of martial arts is filled with legends of people performing feats which defy all logic and even the very laws of physics, all as a result of years of dedicated training and chi development.

“Assassin’s Fist” will delve a little more deeply into the philosophy of chi than the games ever have, affording the series both the highly fantastical nature of its characters and their abilities, as well as establishing a fictionalized take on martial arts training that looks and feels plausible and relatable to fans without sacrificing the essence of what “Street Fighter” is.
