Silat Action Drama Yasmine coming soon

2014 is proving to be a cracking year for action movie and martial arts junkies the world over. As if The Raid 2 or Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist weren’t enough, we also have a sneaky peek at Yasmine, which is due in the summer. In a nutshell Yasmine is directed by Brunei’s first female director, Siti Kamaluddin, and stars novice actors with Yilana Yus taking the lead. It’s about a girl who wants to be a silat champion.

Here’s the synopsis:

Love is never an easy matter, especially for Yasmine. The boy of her dreams, Adi is back in town but he hooks up with Dewi, her longtime rival. Tired of her school and tied up in an underdog Silat club, she decides to take matters into her own hands and start leading the team. At first, Yasmine’s secret activities are well hidden. However, when her father eventually finds out, he decides once and for all to save Yasmine from what he believes to be her downfall.

It looks very promising! You can glean more info over at Film Combat Syndicate. The Guardian covered it a little while ago too.
