New Mortal Kombat X trailer arrives!

The highly popular video game franchise Mortal Kombat is poised to launch its latest installment, titled “Mortal Kombat X”, on April 14th for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming consoles as well as Microsoft Windows. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners will have to wait a tad longer for the game to be ported to their respective systems, reportedly sometime this summer. However, the latest trailer, which focuses on the characters Liu Kang and Kung Lao, shows that it’ll be well worth the wait for any die-hard MK fan!

Picking up some twenty-five years after the end of the previous entry in the series, MK X will depict its roster of characters as older, battle-hardened veterans while also introducing new characters to the series, to include D’Vorah, Erron Black, Ferra/Tor, Jacqui, Kotal Kahn, Takeda, Kung Jin, the younger cousin of Kung Lao, and Cassie Cage, the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade.

Additionally, the game will also feature a few DLC (downloadable content) characters that are very much outside the MK canon but who are sure to be very welcome additions for gamers – namely, Jason Voorhees of the “Friday the 13th” series, and a Predator of the eponymous film series. The previous entry of the series featured Kratos of the “God of War” games and Freddy Krueger of the “Nightmare on Elm Street” series as DLC characters, so hopefully, this is par the course for MK games going forward. After having a look at the series’ latest trailer above, check out the character trailer for the two characters below for, in the words of Shang Tsung, a taste of things to come!
