Horse Stance competition on May 17th!

As anyone who follows the Chinese calendar will know, 2014 is the Year of the Horse. We even posted a piece on the significance of the Year of the Horse to martial artists on Chinese New Year. And as far Kung Fu Magazine is concerned, there’s only one proper way to do the Year of the Horse its proper justice –  the first ever Horse Stance competition held by Tiger Claw Elite’s Kung Fu Magazine Championship!

Known as “Ma Bu” in China, the Horse Stance has been a staple of countless martial arts styles all throughout Asia for centuries. Like all stance training, it’s designed as a means of developing focus, and of strengthening the legs, both to provide martial artists with a strong foundation and powerful legs for using kicking techniques in combat.
