Happy Birthday Steven Seagal!

Happy Birthday Steven Seagal! He’s the chef who could, from Under Siege, batter eggs with nothing but a cheesy line of dialogue; he turns 62 today! Back in the 80s he seemed to be in a new action movie every other week so my brother and I would happily spend all of our pocket money to see him do “stuff” to the bad guys! His most notable films are Hard to Kill, Marked for Death, Above the Law, Out for Justice, and Under Siege.

Steven is an American actor, film producer, screenwriter, film director, martial artist, and musician. He even had a spell on TV as a reserve deputy sheriff in Steven Seagal: Lawman which ran for three years. Despite all that, being busy clearly hasn’t been a hindrance for a man with seven children having been married four times.

Born Steven Frederic Seagal in Lansing, Michigan in 1952 he would move to Los Angeles at an early age though it wasn’t until he hit his thirties when he made his film debut in 1988’s Above the Law. Other notable stars from Lansing, Michigan include Malcolm X, Magic Johnson, and Burt Reynolds.

Steven still has the stamina of a martial artist, especially one who is a 7th-dan black belt in Aikido. He began his adult life as an Aikido instructor in Japan and became the first foreigner to operate an Aikido dojo in Japan. Incredible!

Did you know…Steven’s company, Seagal Enterprises, markets an energy drink known as Steven Seagal’s Lightning Bolt, as well as an homeopathic oil product line and an aftershave called Scent of Action!

A few words of thanks to the fans today:

Anyway, that’s enough words about the man, let video do the talking!
