Fun Friday – Master Ken mentors Shai Hai!

This past October, Kung Fu Kingdom had the great privilege of interviewing accomplished karate master Shai Hai. One of the most respected martial artists in the state of Israel, Shai Hai describes martial arts as being “all I’ve ever known since the age of six”, but you certainly wouldn’t need him to tell you that to already be assuming as much. He’s lived the fantasy of every Western-born karate student in his frequent treks to Okinawa, both as a student and a teacher.

A living embodiment of the dedication and discipline necessary to succeed in the study of martial arts, Shai Hai is a model for all martial artists of all styles to emulate, and as strong a teacher as you could ever find, which anyone who reads his interview with KFK can clearly see! Indeed, one of his own students, Natan Levy, has stepped into the world of MMA competition. Check out our piece on Mr. Levy to see more about his upcoming fights!

Unfortunately, for all of his supposed “skill” and “wisdom” in martial arts, Shai Hai’s teachings and fighting techniques are full of flaws, so much so that it’s a wonder that none of his students, or Shai Hai himself, have gotten themselves killed yet trying to implement them in actual combat. Fortunately, as he has done for so many martial arts teachers and students before, Master Ken, founder of history’s deadliest martial art Ameri-Do-Te, has welcomed Shai Hai and a few of his students all the way from Israel into the dojo to correct the dangerous and downright irresponsible non-sense that makes up the bulk of what they’ve spent their lives learning.

By training with Master Ken, Shai Hai might well be able to rise from the level of a respected yet thoroughly mediocre karateka to a truly lethal Ameri-Do-Te warrior! KFK also had the opportunity to chat with Master Ken earlier this month regarding our own flaws that stem from our lack of Ameri-Do-Te training. Rest assured, we’ll do our best to correct our many, many flaws, and we’ll be sure to badger Shai Hai plenty if he ever becomes lax in correcting his own!
