Ascended Masters dropping soon!

“Kung Fu Jesus”

Now that we have your attention, that’s the basic premise of the upcoming short film “Ascended Masters”. The film seeks to address one of the great mysteries at the heart of Christianity, specifically what Jesus was up to from the ages of 12 to 30. The Bible is curiously silent on this subject, but director Jela Oba Okpara has unearthed the answer – that Jesus made a pilgrimage to the Far East in his middle years on a quest of spiritual enlightenment, and found a means of achieving it through martial arts.

“Ascended Masters” marks Okpara’s second short film, following his post-apocalyptic martial arts adventure “The Last Girl” earlier this year. Two of the films leads, Nick Denbeigh and Oscar Perez, return in the roles of Jesus (or Yeshua Bin Yusef, as he is addressed in the film) and Siddhartha, respectively.

“Ascended Masters” will drop soon and you can check out “The Last Girl” for a taste of what’s in store in Jela’s spiritual action adventure!

For more information on “Ascended Masters”, be sure to follow the film’s official Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as the Facebook page and YouTube Channel of Okpara’s production company Spectacle Pictures.
