Arnold Allen’s Top 3 MMA Finishes! (in descending order)

3. Vs. Dan Hooker – UFC FN 204 (March 19, 2022)

With Arnold Allen having under 5 inches of reach on Dan Hooker, this would seem like a difficult fight.

However, in the first round we see him using his range well even though at 4:04 on the clock he lands an awkward leg kick followed up by a beautiful combination by Allen.

Left hooks and right hooks galore for 15 seconds as he then goes for the takedown and snuffs it. It proved a violent start from them both. By this point, Dan Hooker visibly suffered a lot of damage, and it really looked like Allen would take the fight.

Then at 2:38, a one-two combination followed by a head kick from Allen started an onslaught of the same types of blows as earlier leading to a forced TKO in bulldozing style. The fight finished with 2:33 on the clock.

2. Vs. Alan Omer – UFC FN 69 (June 20, 2015)

A younger Arnold Allen, showed a sneak peek into his vast future ability and potential as a fighter.

The first round started off standing as both fighters fought with patience and style. Allen caught a kick but both fighters looked calm and collected.

Arnold showed his counter punching here, waiting for Omar as he managed to slip a couple of his punches.

At 2:04 Omar grabbed Allen into a clinch, getting a couple knees into his opponent. His defence was great, as Allen exploded at 1:11 into the round and followed up into a double leg which almost allowed Omar to get him into a triangle choke.

With 30 seconds left on the clock, it seemed Allen was hoping that the round would end as he managed to slip out of the triangle as the round ended.

In round 2, the fight started with respect as they touched gloves. Omar manages to counter Allen’s first throw into a body lock takedown, with Allen defending well and even trying to get a kimura from underneath just to scare Omar out of position a bit.

Allen gets a beautiful left straight in followed by a left uppercut which is followed up by a clinch against the cage with Omar doing well to get out with double underhooks and get him against the other side of the cage.

Allen is able to trip but Omar does well to keep balance and get Allen’s back as Allen stands with Omar on his back. However, Allen then escapes by dropping and manoeuvring round for some clinch work against the cage.

Some beautiful grappling is shown from both opponents here. Allen looks fatigued at the end of this round and it’s no surprise that both fighters do. A tough round ends.

Round 3 starts slow, with Omar getting his hooks in as he pushes Allen against the cage. He then takes him down as he traps the leg and hammerfists Allen, but Allen then stands and gets a clinch to the cage where he turns the tide beautifully getting him into a sublime guillotine choke at 1:41 on the clock.

From the outset of round 1, Allen demonstrated his impeccable takedown defence, promptly turning a clinch against the cage into an advantageous position as he artfully flipped his opponent and made a swift escape.

Burnell, appearing comfortable on his feet, repeatedly sought takedowns, yet Allen adeptly evaded each attempt with apparent ease.

Allen showcased his striking precision throughout the bout, while Burnell managed a double takedown in a bid to shift the momentum in his favour.

Despite transitioning to a half guard for ground and pound, Allen quickly reversed the situation, highlighting exceptional strength. The first round concluded with a showcase of Allen’s resilience and ability to dictate the pace.

Round 2 unfolded with a captivating dynamic. Burnell secured another double leg takedown, adhering to his initial game plan. Allen’s ingenuity was on full display as he resorted to a handstand to extricate himself from the cage clinch, yet Burnell capitalized by taking Allen’s back.

Despite the struggle, Allen managed to regain his footing, underlining his impressive defensive skills. Burnell’s single leg takedown attempts were met with Allen’s unwavering determination to stand back up, extending the contest into a flurry of grappling exchanges, ultimately granting Burnell a stronger showing in the round.

As round 3 commenced, both fighters showed definite signs of fatigue, their strikes reflecting the gruelling nature of the contest.

Burnell once again executed a double leg takedown, met with Allen’s attempt to convert it into a headlock. Although Allen’s bid for the headlock didn’t pan out at first, then he countered Burnell’s level change with a stroke of brilliance.
