Keanu Reeves talks: John Wick Chapter Two!

A lot of people have been asking if John Wick is back and for awhile it seemed there wasn’t an answer, but now yeah, we’re thinkin’ he’s back! The hotly anticipated follow-up to the sleeper hit of 2014 (or 2015 for U.K. audiences), “John Wick: Chapter Two” is set to hit theaters on February 10th, 2017 – meaning that it will be among our Most Anticipated Martial Arts Films of next year, but the rest of the entries on this year’s list still stand!

Keanu Reeves reprises the role of the title character, and in an interview with IGN earlier this week, gave some details about where the next installment will go in very martial arts-specific terms:

“For us it was just what is the next chapter? What is the continuation of this story? Opening up the world – the underground world. The world behind the world in terms of the assassins. Kind of evolving the action – if the first one was a black belt, then this one is third degree black belt. It’s such a fun project and a great character.”

Like its predecessor, the sequel will also serve as something of a “Matrix” reunion, with Reeves’ Neo stunt man Chad Stahelski returning to the director’s chair along with Laurence Fishburne making an appearance. It is also heavily rumored that Tiger Chen will appear in the film, perhaps for a rematch after their duel in Reeves’ directorial debut “Man of Tai Chi “. Additionally, while we’re not saying that the incredible Gary Daniels will also cross John Wick’s path in the sequel, we’re also not saying that he won’t! As for Mr. Reeves himself, we can probably conclude that his marksmanship skills since the first film have risen to from first to third degree black belt, as you can see below:

Stay tuned for more info on “John Wick: Chapter Two” as it arrives and check out our review of the first film right here!
