Fun Friday – Master Ken’s take on MMA gloves!

The modern combat sport of mixed martial arts, or MMA, is among the fastest growing sports in the world. In order to succeed in MMA, competitors need to be well-versed in a wide range of combat techniques and be learned enough in their approach to combat to be able to adapt to whatever their opponent throws at them. For this reason, gloves worn by fighters in MMA reflect the need for versatility within the sport. The gloves cover the wearers knuckles, cushioning their punches to prevent injury to their fists or a more serious injury to their opponent. The gloves are designed to have openings for the fingers to slip through, allowing the wearer to include palm strikes and grappling techniques in their attack, as opposed to standard boxing gloves which give the wearer no real options apart from basic punching. The wide-range of techniques available to competitors wearing MMA gloves is a staple of the sport and emblematic of it’s approach to combat.

However, Master Ken, founder of the world’s deadliest martial art Ameri-Do-Te, knows better. As the most lethal martial artist to ever live and the world’s one and only 11th degree black belt, Master Ken has spent his life studying ever martial art in the world, jettisoning the many weaknesses while retaining the few strengths that each has to offer in his formation of Ameri-Do-Te. This is where the saying “Best of All, Worst of None” popular among Ameri-Do-Te practitioners originates. With his all-encompassing knowledge of martial arts, Master Ken sees that MMA gloves are a far greater hindrance than a means of protection for MMA fighters, and he’s finally breaking silence to show the world why. If  anyone in the UFC sees his explanation and implements the necessary corrections, MMA fighters all over the world will be better off for it!
