Fun Friday – Master Ken teaches Ameri-Do-Te animal combat!

Animal combat is one of the most ancient and arcane traditions in all of martial arts. It’s origins can be traced by to China’s famed Shaolin Temple, where Buddhist monks were taught by the famed Indian guru Bodhidharma secret fighting techniques that patterned themselves off of the movements and combat tactics of animals. This gave rise to countless styles of combat that trained the most invincible warriors throughout history to unleash the animal within  – the aggressive clawing techniques of the tiger, the swift precision of the leopard, the elegant sweeping motions of the crane, the blazing directness of the snake, and the elusive and mysterious way of the dragon, to name but a few. These and countless others have empowered warriors with the might and strength of the animal kingdom since time immemorial, and continue to do so to this day.

Master Ken, the famed creator of history’s most invincible combat art of Ameri-Do-Te, knows the power of animal combat well, and makes it a key component of his student’s training regimen. Under his tutelage, Ameri-Do-Te students learn to unleash their inner animal, but where most fighting styles simply do so through movement and combat techniques, Master Ken’s approach is much more in-depth. In Ameri-Do-Te, students take on every aspect of their spirit animals identity, from movements to behavior to diet to mating rituals, in order to unlock the true potential of Ameri-Do-Te animal combat. It’s an approach to training that, like all things Ameri-Do-Te, all other martial arts could greatly benefit from adopting!
