At an imposing height of 6’1” and proudly holding the prestigious no.5 spot in Bellator men’s pound-for-pound rankings, Johnny Eblen, now 32, is not only a world-class fighter but also a master of nicknames. Recently bidding farewell to his latest moniker, “The Human Cheat Code,” he has quite the history in this department.

3. Vs. Daniel Madrid – Bellator 258 (May 7, 2021)

As the hands met in respect at the start of the first round, Eblen tested his range with some low kicks and lunging low jabs.

Madrid however wanted to take this to the ground with his 15 submission victories from 18 total victories.

Eblen though remains patient taking a low kick or two from Madrid and still tries some combinations.

Madrid seems very calm however – maybe even too calm. At 2:44 Eblen uses his power to throw some powerful hooks, landing a beautiful left hook on Madrid’s chin taking it to the ground for the win.

2. Vs. Raymond Gray – Shamrock FC 298 (Nov. 18, 2017)

After a quick glove touch, and we were off with Gray throwing out a spinning back kick with no set up with Eblen attacking swiftly, tackling Gray to the ground and getting his back.

This fight was telegraphed to end quickly as he managed to grab Gray’s wrist and lay down the ground and pound. He flattening out Gray and served up a big elbow which struck fear into Gray as he tried to stand up but failed.

Here was a jaw-dropping conclusion that rendered his opponent unable to continue, as he succumbed to the relentless ground-and-pound assault!

Remarkably, this marked the second instance of his three victories where Eblen sealed the deal with a punch submission.

At 2:21 in Kansas City, Missouri, Gray tapped out from this barrage of punches.

1. Vs. Fabian Edwards – Bellator 299 (Sept. 23, 2023)

Up against the brother of the famous Leon Edwards, Eblen defended his title with flair in a thrilling clash against Fabian Edwards.

A double leg takedown in the second round forced trouble on Edwards however he managed to escape Eblen’s onslaught. He then threw striking combinations against the cage just after he got Edwards’ back.

Round 3 and a right hook dropped Edwards before devastating ground and pound follows. Thus ended the dream and possibility of two brothers being middleweight champions in different MMA promotions. At 0:21 seconds into the 3rd round it was all over!

This was a stunning knockout in the third round demonstrating Eblen’s striking prowess. This cemented his position as a force to be reckoned with in Bellator’s Middleweight division.
