The absurd notion of not kicking the opponent when he or she is down continues to perpetuate itself in the martial arts world. Unfortunately, this places many if not most martial arts practitioners at a severe disadvantage when they are called upon to summon their training.
Bromides such as “excessive force” are tossed around, along with such ridiculous notions as the threat posed by the opponent having been either significantly lessened or eliminated altogether when they are on their back while you are still standing. It is thinking like this that can forever cripple a martial artists ability to excel.
Fortunately, Master Ken, founder of the revolutionary modern art of Ameri-Do-Te, will have none of that. In his school, students train to perceive the enemy as a consistent and formidable threat, regardless of the extent to which the opponent has been incapacitated.
Kicking and stomping the opponent is the logical progression after felling them, as far as Master Ken is concerned, and he makes sure that every Ameri-Do-Te student adopts the same tactic. What’s more, he trains his students to go even further beyond that, only further solidifying Ameri-Do-Te as the deadliest and most formidable of all martial arts!
