Fun Friday – Master Ken teaches defense with a DVD!

Although it is often our natural reflex to think of unarmed combat when we hear the term “martial arts”, weapons training is a staple of countless combat styles throughout the world. Swords often represent the pinnacle of lethal weapons , whilst knives afford a similar deadliness to the user albeit with less range. Not all weapons training is meant to kill, however – the simple bo staff or Kali stick are often meant to preserve the life of the enemy as well as the wielder, but make no mistake, both are most certainly capable of killing an enemy if enough effort is put behind them!  Whether it is learning to deploy a tool of combat or defend against one, weapons combat is an integral part of both ancient and modern martial arts training.

Fortunately, Master Ken has arrived once again to correct the bad habits that thousands of years of training has drilled in the minds and muscle memory of every martial artist across the world! As the most powerful martial artist to ever walk the Earth and the world’s only 11th degree black belt, Master Ken has spent his life studying every martial art ever devised, filtering out their weaknesses while absorbing their strength’s in order to create the arsenal of his street lethal art of Ameri-Do-Te. This approach to training is the origin of the catchphrase popular among Ameri-Do-Te practitioners, “Best of All, Worst of None”. While a sword, stick, or knife might carry the greatest lethality, legal issues often stand in the way of people carrying such weapons in public in modern times. Plus, Master Ken believes that all of these weapons lack the element of surprise – the enemy sees them headed in his direction, and he knows to defend against them. Now, a DVD, on the other hand – well, that’s not a weapon that most are likely to see as any real threat, which is their own folly of course. Better yet, we are now entering the Holiday season, and DVD’s are often popular items to give as gifts – meaning that you are likely to have one by your side throughout most of the remainder of the year. Just follow Master Ken’s example in the video, and you’ll be a street lethal Ameri-Do-Te warrior in no time!
