Fun Friday – Master Ken teaches defense against a bear hug!

The bear hug is a tool as old as the art of fighting itself. We often think of it as a fighting technique employed by unschooled combatants, and indeed, it is something very often employed by untrained fighters in the heat of battle. However, don’t write it off as an undisciplined grappling maneuver just yet. We frequently see it today employed in modern MMA fights as a set up for the suplex, a throwing technique that often entails a lot of pain for the one on the receiving it. Chinese fighters are especially renown for utilizing the technique, both in modern full-contact fights, and in lei tai fights throughout the centuries.

Luckily, Master Ken has the answer to the problem, once again! The most formidable martial artist to ever live, along with being the founder of the most invincible martial art ever created, Ameri-Do-Te, Master Ken has devised the perfect strategy to counter a bear hug attack, be it one executed by an untrained opponent or a disciplined fighter setting up a suplex. Like all things Ameri-Do-Te, Master Ken has eschewed the ineffective rubbish that makes up every other martial art in existence, and devised a flawless Ameri-Do-Te counter-attack that will foil the opponent’s strategy every time! Try to suplex him at your own risk!
