“Section 8” Acquired by AMC & RLJE Films - Kung Fu Kingdom
The official synopsis of “Section 8” in the movie’s press release teases the covert-ops adventure the movie will take viewers on:
“After avenging the murder of his wife and child, a former soldier is sent to prison with a life sentence. He’s given a shot at freedom when a shadow government agency recruits him for an off-the-books assignment, and he soon realizes Section 8 isn’t what it seems.”
The official press release also includes comments from Mark Ward, RLJE Films’ Chief Acquisitions Officer:
“We’re excited to work with the film’s all-star cast who are icons of action cinema…Each of them has legions of fans and we’re excited to be able to bring SECTION 8 to them this fall.”
GM of AMC+ Courtney Thomasma comments:
“AMC+ is poised for a gangbuster second half of 2022, and we’re thrilled to add SECTION 8 to our action-packed line-up of exclusive films, alongside our breakout original series, as we continue to rollout new movie premieres every week for subscribers.”
Christian Sesma’s previous directorial efforts include “Vigilante Diaries”, “Pay Dirt”, “Take Back”, “Every Last One Of Them”, and “Trophy Wife”.
Additionally, fans looking forward to seeing him work with Scott Adkins for the first time will actually be in for a double-whammy, with Mr. Sesma’s next action movie following “Section 8”, “Lights Out”, bringing together Scott, Jaime King, Frank Grillo, JuJu Chan Szeto, and Mekhi Phifer.
Meanwhile, the premise and action movie talent on board for “Section 8” make it a very promising action movie for 2022’s second half, and hopefully, with the movie’s debut date set for September 23rd, it won’t be too much longer before the official trailer drops!
