Iron Monk movie to launch Kickstarter!

The upcoming Shaolin Cultural Festival, to be held in London’s Soccerdome from October 8th to the 14th is already set to be one of the largest martial arts related events in the U.K. However, a new event has been added to the festival’s roster, specifically relating to that “Iron Monk” teaser trailer that popped up on YouTube back in 2011!

Since the trailer’s release three years ago, fans have been clamoring to see more both on YouTube and the film’s official Facebook page. It seems that they’ll finally have the opportunity – the makers “Iron Monk” will be launching the official Kickstarter to raise finances to make a feature film from the original teaser.

Little information is available at present regarding the film, but the Kickstarter campaign will officially begin on October 11th at the Shaolin Cultural Festival. Filmmaker Jason Ninh Cao serves as writer and director with Vincent Wang handling the film’s action direction. U.K. martial arts champions Silvio Simac and Zara Phythian are attached to the film, as well as Shi Yanzi, 34th generation Shaolin disciple and one of the headmasters of London’s U.K. Shaolin Temple!

Check out the original “Iron Monk” trailer below! For more information on “Iron Monk” and the upcoming Kickstarter campaign, be sure to follow the film’s official Facebook page and YouTube Channel, which includes some awesome behind-the-scenes clips, as well!
